Bill Stanton

Bill Stanton (William McKinnon Stanton) was born on April 21, 1924 in Dillon, South Carolina. After going to high school at South Robeson (Rowland, NC), Stanton attended North Carolina State University. Stanton made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1949 with the Buffalo Bills. He played for the Buffalo Bills for 1 year before the Bills disbanded. He was then drafted by the Ottawa Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) where his 1951 team won the Grey Cup, the NFL's version of the Super Bowl.
