Bill Staley (William P. Staley) was born on September 9, 1946 in Walnut Creek, California. After going to high school at Los Lomas (Walnut Creek, CA), Staley attended Utah State University. Staley made his professional debut in the AFL in 1968 with the Cincinnati Bengals. He played in the AFL for 2 years, playing for the Cincinnati Bengals the entire time. Staley also played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Chicago Bears the entire time.

Most people believe that 1968 was Bill Staley's best year.
