Born on May 26, 1904 in Abilene, Texas, Bill Shores (William David Shores) played for the Philadelphia Athletics, New York Giants and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 6 year career. Shores broke into the bigs on April 11, 1928 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 3.60 ERA in 152.2 innings pitched in 1929, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bill Shores's best season was 1929, when he posted a 3.60 ERA and won 11 games.
