Bill Shockley (William Albert Shockley) was born on March 13, 1937 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Comestoga (Berwyn, PA), Shockley attended West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Shockley made his professional debut in the AFL in 1960 with the New York Titans. He played in the AFL for 3 years, playing for the New York Titans the entire time. Shockley also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers the entire time.

Most people believe that 1960 was Bill Shockley's best year, as he had 411 kick return yards.
