Bill Rooney (William Rooney) was born on July 16, 1896. After going to high school at Roosevelt (Virginia, MN), Rooney attended none. Rooney made his professional debut in the NFL in 1923 with the Duluth Kelleys. He played for the Duluth Kelleys, Chicago Cardinals, Duluth Eskimos, Brooklyn Lions and New York Giants over the course of his 6 year career.
