Born on August 2, 1906 in San Francisco, California, Bill Posedel (William John Posedel) played for the Brooklyn Dodgers and Boston Braves over the course of his 5 year career. Posedel broke into the bigs on April 23, 1938 with the Brooklyn Dodgers, and put up a 5.66 ERA in 140 innings pitched in 1938, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bill Posedel's best season was 1939, when he posted a 3.92 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 73 batters.
