Born on August 5, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri, Bill Pleis (William Pleis) played for the Minnesota Twins for his entire 6 year career. Pleis broke into the bigs on April 16, 1961 with the Minnesota Twins, and put up a 4.95 ERA in 56.1 innings pitched in 1961, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Bill Pleis's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1965, when he posted a 2.98 ERA. However, others believe that it was 1964, when he posted a 3.91 ERA.
