Bill North (William Alex North) was born on May 15, 1948 in Seattle, Washington. He made his Major League debut on September 3, 1971 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1973, his rookie year, he hit .285 with 5 home runs and 34 RBI. North played for the Chicago Cubs, Oakland Athletics, Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Bill North's best season was 1976, when he stole 75 bases and hit for a .276 average.
