Bill Nagel (William Taylor Nagel) was born on August 19, 1915 in Memphis, Tennessee. He made his Major League debut on April 20, 1939 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1939, his rookie year, he hit .252 with 12 home runs and 39 RBI. Nagel played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 3 year career.
