Bill Murrell (William Ellis Murrell) was born on June 14, 1956 in Walnut Cove, North Carolina. After going to high school at South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC), Murrell attended Winston Salem State University. Murrell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1979 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 4 year career.
