Bill McGhee (William Mac McGhee) was born on September 5, 1905 in Shawmut, Alabama. He made his Major League debut on July 5, 1944 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1944, his rookie year, he hit .289 with 1 home run and 19 RBI. McGhee played for the Philadelphia Athletics for his entire 2 year career.
