Bill Matthews (William Marvin Matthews) was born on March 12, 1956 in Santa Monica, California. After going to high school at Wessington (SD), Matthews attended South Dakota State University. Matthews made his professional debut in the NFL in 1979 with the New England Patriots. He played for the New England Patriots for his entire 3 year career.
Most people believe that 1980 was Bill Matthews's best year.
