Bill Long (William Gene Long) was born on September 11, 1926 in Lenapah, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Hominy (OK), Long attended Oklahoma State University. Long made his professional debut in the NFL in 1949 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 1 year career.
