Born on December 6, 1913 in Ulm, Arkansas, Bill Kerksieck (Wayman William Kerksieck) played for the Philadelphia Phillies for his entire 1 year career. Kerksieck broke into the bigs on June 21, 1939 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 7.18 ERA in 62.2 innings pitched in 1939, his rookie year.
