Bill Joyce (William Michael Joyce) was born on September 21, 1865 in St. Louis, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on April 19, 1890 for the Brooklyn Wonders. In 1890, his rookie year, he hit .252 with 1 home run and 78 RBI. Joyce played for the Brooklyn Wonders, Boston Reds, Brooklyn Bridegrooms, Washington Senators and New York Giants over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Bill Joyce's best season was 1896, when he stole 45 bases, hit for a .333 average and knocked in 94 runs.
