Bill Holcomb (William L. Holcomb) was born on June 21, 1913 in Amarillo, Texas. After going to high school at Sulphur Springs (TX), Holcomb attended Texas Technical University. Holcomb made his professional debut in the NFL in 1937 with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 1 year career.
