Bill Herchman (William Herchman) was born on March 10, 1933 in Vernon, Texas. After going to high school at Lubbock (TX), Herchman attended Texas Technical University and Tyler Junior College. Herchman made his professional debut in the NFL in 1956 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played in the NFL for 6 years, playing for the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys over the course of his 6 year NFL career.Herchman also played in the AFL for 1 year, playing for the Houston Oilers the entire time.
Most people believe that 1957 was Bill Herchman's best year, as he ran back an interception for a touchdown.
