Bill Hegarty (William Michael Hegarty) was born on October 13, 1927 in Medford, Mississippi. After going to high school at Medford (MA) and St. Thomas Aquinas (Rochesterm NY), Hegarty attended the University of Georgia and Villanova University. Hegarty made his professional debut in the NFL in 1953 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins for his entire 1 year career.
