Bill Gregory (William Penn Gregory, Jr.) was born on December 14, 1949 in Galveston, Texas. After going to high school at Lincoln (LaMarque, TX), Gregory attended the University of Wisconsin. Gregory made his professional debut in the NFL in 1971 with the Dallas Cowboys. He played for the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that 1978 was Bill Gregory's best year, as he recovered 3 opponents fumbles.
