Bill Godwin (William Domont Godwin) was born on May 18, 1919. After going to high school at Blytheville (GA), Godwin attended the University of Georgia. Godwin made his professional debut in the NFL in 1947 with the Boston Yanks. He played for the Boston Yanks for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1947 was Bill Godwin's best year.
