Bill Geiss (William J. Geiss) was born on July 15, 1858 in Chicago, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on July 19, 1882 for the Detroit Wolverines. In 1884, his rookie year, he hit .177 with 2 home runs and 16 RBI. Geiss played for the Detroit Wolverines for his entire 1 year career.
