Bill Garnaas (Wilford Benjamen Garnaas) was born on October 8, 1921 in Oberon, North Dakota. Garnaas attended the University of Minnesota. Garnaas made his professional debut in the NFL in 1946 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1947 was Bill Garnaas's best year.
