Born on October 11, 1930 in Wausau, Wisconsin, Bill Fischer (William Charles Fischer) played for the Chicago White Sox, Washington Senators, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Athletics and Minnesota Twins over the course of his 9 year career. Fischer broke into the bigs on April 21, 1956 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 3.48 ERA in 124 innings pitched in 1957, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bill Fischer's best season was 1963, when he posted a 3.57 ERA.
