Born on July 28, 1867 in Wilmington, Pennsylvania, Bill Day (William M. Day) played for the Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 2 year career. Day broke into the bigs on August 20, 1889 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 4.52 ERA in 73.2 innings pitched in 1890, his rookie year.
