Bill Davis (William Dorris Davis) was born on November 10, 1916 in Grapevine, Texas. After going to high school at Grapevine (TX), Davis attended Texas Technical University. Davis made his professional debut in the NFL in 1940 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Chicago Cardinals and Brooklyn Dodgers over the course of his 3 year NFL career.Davis also played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the Miami Seahawks the entire time.

Most people believe that 1941 was Bill Davis's best year, as he ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
