Bill Craver (William H. Craver) was born on June , 1844 in Troy, New York. He made his Major League debut on May 9, 1871 for the Troy Haymakers. In 1872, his rookie year, he hit .281 with 0 home runs and 24 RBI. Craver played for the Troy Haymakers, Baltimore Canaries, Philadelphia White Stockings, Philadelphia Centennials, Philadelphia Athletics, New York Mutuals and Louisville Grays over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that Bill Craver's best season was 1874, when he hit for a .343 average and knocked in 56 runs.
