Bill Cowher is a Fool

He said he wants to spend more time with his family, including his three daughters. Two are away at college, and the other is a high school sophomore. Sorry Coach.
He said he's not burned out, but that "this is the right time" to leave. Sorry Coach.
He said he won't coach next season, but he did acknowledge that there are "several great positions" open. Sorry Coach.
So why is Bill Cowher leaving the perfect situation? Nobody knows.
He compiled a 161-99-1 record with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and if he never coaches another game, he'll be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame without question. He and Chuck Noll are the only two men to lead the team since 1969. Cowher was the head of one of the most storied franchises in professional sports.
Cowher is Pittsburgh. From that famous jawline to his roots in Crafton, Pennsylvania, to that work ethic, to his winning attitude. He is blue-collar Pittsburgh. The city embraced him from day one, and he didn't let them down. 10 AFC playoff appearances, 6 AFC title game appearances, 2 Super Bowls, and one glorious, overdue victory.
Cowher could have coached this team for the next 20 years, and probably become the winningest coach in history. He says it doesn't matter... he wants more time with the fam. I think it matters to him. He's only 49.
So why is Bill Cowher really leaving the perfect situation? No clue.
I don't buy the family argument, because he took the job at age 34, when his youngest daughter was just born. His time commitment has been unbelievable, and he's probably missed out on much of his daughters' childhoods.
So why change that now? In a little more than two years, Bill and Kaye Cowher will be empty-nesters. What will Billy do then? He'll go back to the NFL.
And his job won't be near as perfect as Pittsburgh.
