Born on September 27, 1898 in Portsmouth, Virginia, Bill Clarkson (William Henry Clarkson) played for the New York Giants and Boston Braves over the course of his 3 year career. Clarkson broke into the bigs on May 2, 1927 with the New York Giants, and put up a 4.36 ERA in 86.2 innings pitched in 1927, his rookie year.
