[edit] Biography

Born on July 13, 1956 in Santa Monica, California, Bill Caudill (William Holland Caudill) played for the Chicago Cubs, Seattle Mariners, Oakland Athletics and Toronto Blue Jays over the course of his 9 year career. Caudill broke into the bigs on May 12, 1979 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 4.80 ERA in 90 innings pitched in 1979, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Bill Caudill's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1984, when he posted a 2.71 ERA, notched 36 saves and struck out 89 batters. However, others believe that it was 1982, when he posted a 2.35 ERA, won 12 games, notched 26 saves and struck out 111 batters.
