Born on March 29, 1952 in Santiago, Santiago (Dominican Republic), Bill Castro (William Radhames (Checo) Castro) played for the Milwaukee Brewers, New York Yankees and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 10 year career. Castro broke into the bigs on August 20, 1974 with the Milwaukee Brewers, and put up a 2.52 ERA in 75 innings pitched in 1975, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Bill Castro's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1977, when he posted a 4.15 ERA and notched 13 saves. However, others believe that it was 1980, when he posted a 2.77 ERA.
