Bill Callihan (William E. Callihan) was born on May 15, 1916 in Paxton, Nebraska. After going to high school at Grand Island (NE), Callihan attended the University of Nebraska. Callihan made his professional debut in the NFL in 1940 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 6 year career.

Most people believe that 1943 was Bill Callihan's best year.
