Born on March 27, 1895 in Jarbalo, Kansas, Bill Burwell (William Edwin Burwell) played for the St. Louis Browns and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 3 year career. Burwell broke into the bigs on May 1, 1920 with the St. Louis Browns, and put up a 3.65 ERA in 113.1 innings pitched in 1920, his rookie year.
