Bill Briggs (William John Briggs) was born on December 25, 1943 in Sanford, North Carolina. After going to high school at Hackensack (NJ), Briggs attended the University of Iowa. Briggs made his professional debut in the NFL in 1966 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1967 was Bill Briggs's best year.
