Bill Bevens

Born on October 21, 1916 in Hubbard, Oregon, Bill Bevens (Floyd Clifford Bevens) played for the New York Yankees for his entire 4 year career. Bevens broke into the bigs on May 12, 1944 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 3.67 ERA in 184 innings pitched in 1945, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Bill Bevens's best season was 1946, when he posted a 2.23 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 120 batters.
