Born on October 4, 1954 in Chatham, Ontario (Canada), Bill Atkinson (William Cecil Glenn Atkinson) played for the Montreal Expos for his entire 4 year career. Atkinson broke into the bigs on September 18, 1976 with the Montreal Expos, and put up a 3.35 ERA in 83.1 innings pitched in 1977, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bill Atkinson's best season was 1977, when he posted a 3.35 ERA and struck out 56 batters.
