Big Sunday for Clemens'

by Ackermansteven

This upcoming Sunday will be a huge Sunday in New York for athletes with the last name of Clemens. I'll start off with Roger. He is going to have to take the hill Sunday night on national TV in what could be the biggest game of the season. The New York Yankees will make a visit to Fenway Park in hopes of making one final run towards an American League East divison championship. Roger Clemens will take the hill Sunday night on ESPN against Curt Schilling. This game could be meaningful if the Yankees can possibly take the first two games of the series and maybe steal the AL East title.

Now a much younger and different version of a Clemens will be making his first start at quaterback for the New York Jets. Kellen Clemens will start this week for an injured Chad Pennington for the New York Jets. Kellen was born after Roger was playing already! Kellen Clemens looked very good for the Jets in preseason. The Oregon Ducks product will look to have success agaisnt a very tough Baltimore Ravens defense Sunday. Some good news for the Jets in this game will be that Ray Lewis isn't expected to be 100% for this game and Kyle Boller may get the start for Baltimore after Steve McNair hurt his groin against the Cincinnati Bengals in week 1. The Jets can sure use a spark from the 2nd year quarterback after getting embarrassed 38-14 in week 1 against New England.

Kellen will get eaten alive by the Ravens defense this week.

I think Clemens has the goods to be a NFL QB. However, in a battle of backups you'd have to take the Ravens D against Clemens over the Jets D against Boller.
