Best fans in the NFL

The Philadelphia Eagles have the best, crazyiest and most loyal fans of any team. One game in the 2006 season against the Bucs 5,000 Eagles fans went. To play the Bucs not even Bucs fans go to those games. How often do you hear a lot at an Eagles game. We beat other fans up. In the Linc theres a court with its on judge every game in case a fight breaks out. We boo Santa Clause and threw snowballs at him. We threw batteries at one guy. Tell me if you agree or disagree then tell me who you think it is.

The Philly fans are passionate but they also be the worse fans in America. They are the most "What have you done for me lately" crowd Ive ever seen. For as much as the teams have failed to generate a championship team in 23 years, the fans are just as responsible for that losing attitude. Sorry Christof

BigP - you can't say that. Look at the attendance. Eagles sell out every home game and have a 30,000 person waiting list for season tickets. Last championship - 1960. Flyers have nearly a sell-out every night, even this season, when they were by far the worse club in the NFL. Last championship - 1975. Phillies are also still drawing well - 1 championship in 125 years. Sixers attendance is down, but except for a spike in the late 90's, was always low. It is true that we can turn on players rather quickly. That is based on the effort and attitude they provide. We are vicious, no dobut, but if you give us a good effort, we will like you.

I dont doubt that they still flock to the stadiums religously. My problem with Philly fans is how they canibalize their own. In many ways they make the New York Fans and media seem tame.

They create such an intense enviorment that it becomes difficult for any player to play at a high level in that enviornment.

There's a fine line between a Philly fan and an UK booster.

It's true, BigPP... if you get dirty or bleed while playing in that town, Philly will love you more than the superstar guy who actually carries the team to victory.

Philly fans are ferociously fairweather too. The Phillies start out slow and everyone goes bersek... Hey, Philly AT LEAST THE TEAM DOESN'T suck COMPLETELY. Need I remind you of the '86-'92 Phillies teams?

The Santa thing gets blown out of proportion BIG TIME. Look up the REAL story and you won't think so badly about it. The worst I ever saw from Philly (other than the cheering a rival opponent nearly breaking his neck) was when they booed the hell out of Darren Daulton's 4 or 5 year old daughter at a pregame player's kids game. Because Dutch was in a extended slump... they booed his freeking kid...like it was HER fault... sad.

Philadelphians complain and bitch better than anyone. Bitching, whining and complaining is a BIRTH RIGHT in the Delaware Valley. People can say the Cubs are the lovable losers, etc... Philly THRIVES on being a last place city. Philadelphians THRIVE on being tough, gritty, able to withstand whatever punishment they can bitch about comes their way. IF the city was to win another championship, people WOULDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! People in SouthEast PA and NJ would lose their identity if they stood atop the mountain of victory... WHAT would they have to bitch about?

What can you say, Philly fans took lessons at the Dave Schultz school of fandom...

Great example: Schulzie is STILL a cult hero in that town (and a hero to me for flatenning Alex Trebek in a charity hockey game) more than the guys who actually brought the Cup to town... Seriously, Sal Fasano had more of a following last year than guys like Bobby Abreau and Mike Lieberthal... come on.

Green Bay Packers fans are good. To fill a stadium each game that's three-quarters the size of their cities population, and to have it sold to capacity until 2012 or something stupid - That takes loyal and dedicated fans. It's had to be to survive in the NFL, where they're the only small town team left.

the community owns the team by way of stock ownership. In fact the Packers are the only publicly owned Major pro sports team in North America. If someone wanted to buy and move the Packers, they'd have to buy the majority of the stock of all of the holders. And team rules dictate that you need to own stock to buy season tickets. The whole area would have to completely turn their backs on football, history and their entire community. Good luck with that... Worst case scenario, they run the business into the ground and get folded by the league. It's happened before (I'm looking at you Cleveland Barons)

Maybe if the product on the field was worth watching, there wouldn't be people going to games for the sole purpose of fighting. And while my experience in Philly are limited, the venues themselves (at the time) left alot to be desired. The Vet was like a morgue.
