Best Video Game Athlete Ever

10
Vote

Most people will immediately mention Tecmo Bowl's Bo Jackson, and its hard to argue against him. I mean, who else in the history of video game world could you use to give the ball to, run all the way back to your own 1 yard line, wait for the defense to come on the screen, and still manage to run 99 yards for the TD, (with a few loopty-loops thrown in for good measure along the way)? Thats right nobody. However, that only serves to make him the greatest football video game athlete ever. And dont listen to anyone who tries to tell you that the Madden 2004 Michael Vick is any better, because those people are obviously taking crazy pills.

Well, if Bo Jackson is not the greatest video athlete of all time, then who could it possibly be, you ask. Good question. My vote goes to, and the so-called point of this pointless opinion piece, is to give credit where credit is due and to honor the often overlooked: Tom Chambers of Lakers vs Celtics and the NBA Playoffs for Sega Genesis. The man was unstoppable. He could dunk from the three point line. From a flat footed jump. And it was no glitch in the game. The man could do that in real life. If you dont believe me, then you are taking crazy pills yourself.

Well, Mr. T. Pants Esq., if he could do that in real life, why didnt he ever enter the Slam Dunk Contest? A reasonable question, which has a reasonable answer. It's a little known fact that he was banned from participating by the NBA. In the true spirit of competition and fairness, the league realized that if they would have allowed him to participate, then it would really be no contest at all, and they would have to change the name, and therefore all of the merchandise associated with the event, and it was just not worth the effort.

You may not agree with me, and since it is your constitutional right to be wrong, I respect that. However, this is my opinion, and therefore its probably right.

Always leaving out the fat guy. You needed two fat guys and two skinny guys to inflict damage in Nintendo Hockey.

I don't know, pound for pound, my vote goes to little Mac from Mike Tyson's Punchout. Who else at 5 foot nothing could take on the biggest and strongest boxers from around the globe and still defeat Iron Mike (before he went crazy) all in one day? Nobody.

in the summer of 2000, a video game god was born. David Pean, PG of the Cranford Crabs, a custom team created in NBA Live, was quite possibly the Best Video Game Athlete. He was deadly from the 3, and hooked up his teammates with awesome assists. Even though the Crabs did not win many games, and the team often faught over the ball, Pean was always the rock of the team.

The answer to this question is obvious...It's Paste of the NJ squad from Bases Loaded I. He hit like .400 with 70 dongs and something like 140 RBI's. The only way to contain him would be to bean him and hope he charged the mound so that he would be kicked out of the game (which my Dad made a rule against because it would invariably lead to a bunkhouse brawl between my brother and I). Otherwise he was at least a guaranteed double.

John Elway in John Elway's Quarterback... there was one play that your guy moved in super speed, while everyone else moved at the regular speed... you could have scored every play if you wanted.
