Bert Niehoff (John Albert Niehoff) was born on May 13, 1884 in Louisville, Colorado. He made his Major League debut on October 4, 1913 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1914, his rookie year, he hit .242 with 4 home runs and 49 RBI. Niehoff played for the Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals and New York Giants over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that Bert Niehoff's best season was 1916, when he knocked in 61 runs.
