Bernie Halstrom (Bernard Christian Halstrom) was born on April 18, 1895 in Chicago, Illinois. After going to high school at Hyde Park (Chicago, IL), Halstrom attended the University of Illinois. Halstrom made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Chicago Cardinals for his entire 2 year career.
