Benny McCoy (Benjamin Jenison McCoy) was born on November 9, 1915 in Jenison, Michigan. He made his Major League debut on September 14, 1938 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1939, his rookie year, he hit .302 with 1 home run and 33 RBI. McCoy played for the Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 4 year career.
Most people believe that Benny McCoy's best season was 1941, when he knocked in 61 runs.
