Born on April 6, 1906 in Dexter, Michigan, Benny Frey (Benjamin Rudolph Frey) played for the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 8 year career. Frey broke into the bigs on September 18, 1929 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 4.70 ERA in 245 innings pitched in 1930, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Benny Frey's best season was 1934, when he posted a 3.52 ERA and won 11 games.
