Benny Distefano (Benito James Distefano) was born on January 23, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York. He made his Major League debut on May 18, 1984 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1989, his rookie year, he hit .247 with 2 home runs and 15 RBI. Distefano played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Houston Astros over the course of his 5 year career.
