Born on April 14, 1893 in Adair, Oklahoma, Ben Tincup (Austin Ben Tincup) played for the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 4 year career. Tincup broke into the bigs on May 22, 1914 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 2.61 ERA in 155 innings pitched in 1914, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ben Tincup's best season was 1914, when he posted a 2.61 ERA and struck out 108 batters.
