Ben Sankey (Benjamin Turner Sankey) was born on September 2, 1907 in Nauvoo, Alabama. He made his Major League debut on October 5, 1929 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1931, his rookie year, he hit .227 with 0 home runs and 14 RBI. Sankey played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 3 year career.
