Bellhorn the Yankee: A Pictorial

by user Xinoph

In 2005 2B Mark Bellhorn, cut by the Boston Red Sox after they picked up Tony Graffanino, signed with the New York Yankees. After playing 85 games in Boston he finished the season playing 9 games for the Yankees. This is a pictorial odyssey of what is sure to become one of the most legendary careers in Yankee history.

I can't believe I got stuck Bellhorn-sitting today.

100
Maybe if I ignore him he'll go away...

100
Yep, this is the dugout. Home sweet home.

100
Ahh, it was hot out there. You know. Sittin'.

100
Hmm, I don't think Sheff will mind if I take some of these.

100
Let's see, what's the score? Inning? OK, just checkin'.

100
So, man, what are you doing after the game tonight?

100
OK, just stretchin'. Not trying to get on the field, just gettin' some stretches in here.

100
So, what do you think of this whole "sitting-on-the-cooler" thing?

100
Boy, you were right. This cooler is more comfortable.

Stalking a Yankee, eh? Just a reminder folks, the Curse of Ike article is coming tomorrow. Will t-shirts be far behind?

Poor Bellhorn. No one has received as much undeserved crap as this guy.

At least the Yankees were smart enough to keep him on the bench, where he belonged. (Notice all, I said something positive about the Yankees. Just, you know, for the record)

I think you may be giving them too much credit! It wasn't that they were smart...it's just that Rodriguez and Cano were better than him in '05. He'll probably be remembered as a bad player, but I'll always remember the guy for the great '04 he gave us.

True 'nuff, can't forget that season. But it's become clear that 2004 was more of a fluke than anything.

What was wrong with what I said? Whenever I think of Bellhorn, I think of the 3 True Outcomes: Walks, Homers, and Strikeouts. That's his M.O. And he did it better than most anybody in '04...
