Belf West (David Belford West) was born on May 7, 1896 in Hamilton, New York. After going to high school at Colgate Academy, Peddie Sc and Phillips Andover, West attended Colgate University. West made his professional debut in the APFA in 1921 with the Canton Bulldogs. He played for the Canton Bulldogs for his entire 1 year career.
