Beattie Feathers (William Beattie Feathers) was born on August 20, 1909 in Bristol, Virginia. After going to high school at Bristol (VA), Feathers attended the University of Tennessee. Feathers made his professional debut in the NFL in 1934 with the Chicago Bears. He played for the Chicago Bears, Brooklyn Dodgers and Green Bay Packers over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that 1934 was Beattie Feathers's best year, as he ran for 1004 yards and ran in 8 TDs.
