Born on June 5, 1881 in Port Washington, Wisconsin, Beany Jacobson (Albert Leonard Jacobson) played for the Washington Senators, St. Louis Browns and Boston Americans over the course of his 4 year career. Jacobson broke into the bigs on April 30, 1904 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 3.55 ERA in 253.2 innings pitched in 1904, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Beany Jacobson's best season was 1906, when he posted a 2.50 ERA and struck out 53 batters.
