Basil Stanley (Basil Laron Stanley) was born on February 8, 1896 in Montpelier, Ohio. After going to high school at Central (South Bend, IN), Stanley attended St. Mary's College of California, the University of Illinois, the University of Notre Dame and Wabash College. Stanley made his professional debut in the NFL in 1924 with the Rock Island Independents. He played for the Rock Island Independents for his entire 1 year career.
